30 Days of Thankfulness - Day 27
I am grateful for my home, the way it looks, those who live within, and what it contains. I am grateful the way the light reflects off the walls, the way the pictures make me smile, how I think of dancing when I'm in the kitchen, and the scent of homemade soup one catches on the occasion.

30 Days of Thankfulness - Day 7
I am thankful for snuggles. Nothing warms my heart and brings me ease
like my children nuzzling up to me, asking to be snuggled. It's right up
there with feeling my husband, breathing him in, as he holds me in his
arms. It's that feeling of safety and love... security. So very
thankful.

30 Days of Thankfulness - Day 5
I am thankful for the autumn. I love the feeling I get when the air chills and the leaves change colors. I love the feel of the season, that's in the air... I am so thankful I get to experience this.

30 Days of Thankfulness - Day 4
I am thankful for stories: the ones I read in books, the ones my children tell one another and use to play, the ones my husband writes, the ones I create in my head, the ones of the past, and the ones of the future.

30 Days of Thankfulness - Day 3
I am thankful for my youngest little. For the last few months, every morning she has come to my bed to snuggle. She doesn't want me to wake up the eldest; she just wants to snuggle me. I've been treasuring and breathing in these moments. She too amazes me each day, as her language progresses, the stories both girls share, the way she has to hug and kiss her sister every morning, and her facial expressions.
Friday, November 02, 2012
30 Days of Thankfulness - Day 2
I am thankful for my eldest little. Every day she amazes me in some way, whether it be her knowledge, her smile, the way she can manage computer games, and especially how she can figure things out on her own. Each day she grows... as does my love for her.
Thursday, November 01, 2012
30 Days of Thankfulness - Day 1
I am thankful for the wonderful man who is my husband and best friend. I adore him. I love being able to fall asleep and wake up with him. And I so appreciate all that he has done for me as my back is healing.

Quote from Eckhart Tolle's Facebook Page
Almost two thousand years ago, the philosopher Plutarch wrote:
"Most people bypass what is good and refreshing in their lives, and habitually focus on the unpleasant, bad elements."
"Most people bypass what is good and refreshing in their lives, and habitually focus on the unpleasant, bad elements."
How easily all our attention can get absorbed by our "problems". Thinking and talking about them strengthens a false sense of self. And so we miss the good in our lives. Where's the good? It's where Life is: in the present moment. It's in the clouds and vast spaciousness of the sky, the air you breathe, the life-giving light and warmth of the sun, the silence of the night. It's in a small act of kindness given or received. It's in the sound of the rain, the intense aliveness of a flower....the same aliveness that you can also feel inside your body.
Another word for acknowledging the good in your life is - gratitude.
And: what you focus your attention on, grows.
With love,
Eckhart

Quote...
"Gratitude
unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and
more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to
clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a
stranger into a friend."
Melody Beattie

The Small Things...
I came across a great article today:
"A person who celebrates only the big stuff and “highs” will have only fleeting moments of happiness, at best. On the other hand, a person who feels grateful for the small things in life will be happy a majority of the time. Virtually everywhere she looks, she will find cause for celebration. "

Want to feel on top of the world?
Did I mention that I'm grateful for this video, and the friend who brought it to my attention?
Guaranteed to help you feel good, maybe even "On Top of the World". And you can't go wrong with a band called "Imagine Dragons". Just sayin'.

Has it really been a year?
Apparently so. Right now I'm in the midst of dealing with and healing a herniated disc. It's truly been a busy year, and now, life has slowed down as I have been forced to rest in order to heal.
That being said...
I am grateful for my chiropractor. He is kind, patient, extremely supportive, and he believes in me.
Good friends who have been by to visit and help out. I've truly treasured having the time to talk and get to know a few people better. It really helps the healing.
I am grateful for the way that my youngest wants to be near me. The touch of her hand, her foot, the way she snuggles right up to me at night, means the world to me.
Definitely my hubby's hugs and support.
The help of my eldest during this time. She's amazing.
